A while back we heard that Patriot Renewables was not happy about its tax bill from the town of Freedom. This is the same Patriot Renewables who sold their project to the people by promising them lower taxes for all if they were allowed to build.
Promising to lower taxes is standard practice when a wind developer wants to get the locals on their side. Unfortunately, the reality is often different from the promise. Just ask the people in Freedom, or any other town that has allowed the wind companies in.
Personally, I much prefer to rely on the hard numbers, rather than the developer’s promises…………..
